fantasy life

so i don't particularly care for lydia hearst. mostly because i think she's a crap model, but also because her appearance on gossip girl scarred me for life (like chuck would really ditch the amazing and glorious blair for that mess? no way). but i am loving the fantasy dresses she's wearing in this editorial

or these would be pretty sweet as well:

last night i dreamed that i won a thousand dollars (and in my dream i bought alexander wang with it), but if i had (or if i had a thousand dollars i wouldn't miss), i think i would get these instead:

elusive

i can't pinpoint exactly what it is that i love about this photo - the combination of accessories, perhaps? or maybe it's the fault that the model looks real - she's staring straight at the camera, and they even have her sitting at a table, presumably tailoring a jacket. so much more refreshing than what's become the vogue standard - frozen models occasionally jumping. i love la wintour, but vogue has long lost its freshness

big wow

I really, really love this look. All the gold and black and yet so much contrast, texture, and variety. I know everyone was digging Vanessa Traina's Givenchy look, but I think this one wins, hands down.

wicked awesome

i can't even describe how much i love this photo/look - the lavender/pink washed out hair combined with all the black sheer draping, and the sparkles. ridiculous.

phillip lim goes beyond the pretty and into awesome

i haven't been that interested in phillip lim before this year - too much pretty - but the leather, studs, and sequins have totally won me over. show me something studded and i'm yours. a lot's been posted about his amazing fur cardigan, but today i'm looking at a couple of more affordable items that also bring the awesome...

these would be a great diy, but i kind of want the originals. not a lot of point in leather gloves in los angeles, though. sadness!

this also comes in a really great dress, but i'm leaning towards the top right now. i never dress up, and i feel like a beautiful cocktail dress might be wasted on me. a sequined top, on the other hand, i would wear daily.

becka diamond at home

her hair is fantastic. i had a short cut similar to this a while ago, and i could never get my hair to look like this - too fine, not enough body, and refuses to have this much texture. and i am super jealous of her amazing rick owens jacket

more clothes envy - i love this jackets. i'd look terrible in this outfit, but i heart it still. the clutter throughout her apartment appeals to me aesthetically (see the refinery 29 post for more photos of her home), but i have a limit on the amount of clutter i can live in. organized random objects is more my thing.

totally sweet. i can't think of a word or phrase that i would really want on my body permanently - you go through so many changes in life, can the explicit, specific ideas that words express in a tattoo really be a meaningful constant throughout your life? but i love love love the script.

shoe lust lust lust

i don't normally wear heels - my feet are super small for how tall i am and heels are just hatefully painful - but i'm thinking i might have to reconsider just for these amazing shoes. with black skinnies, a big white alexander wang tee, and the phillip lim jacket of fur and leather amazingness, it would be worth the pain. i think. probably.

love that blazer

i would kill for that phillip lim blazer - i have an insane love for all things sequined. i'm currently making a dress based off this amazingness. silk and sequins are always a winning combination.

bad. ass.

pink hair gaga!

my own hair is naturally a bright, rich red, so i've never dyed it, but there are definitely days when i want pink hair (or even better, ombré hair) with a rhinestone headpiece on top. not so into her music, but love her over the top insanity.

le smoking

ridiculously gorgeous/cool. love her tats as well - not a big fan of getting words, but the script is really beautiful.

i'm currently working on a marie antoinette costume inspired by dior fall 2005 couture (post to follow), but after i finish it i may have to copy this outfit.

litter sf

i first discovered litter when their online store launched a few months ago, and bought their scorpion chain ring, which i love (note: it doesn't fit me as it's shown on the model - the rings are really large for my hands, and i wear the second ring - shown here on the first finger - on my thumb). the line is all handmade by two sisters out of san francisco, largely out of vintage chains, and they're starting to get a lot of really well deserved attention. most of their pieces are really well priced and they're all totally unique. check it out.
